Kick Capita out of NHS! ‘Patients’ lives at risk’– NAO report PRIVATE outsourcing firm Capita has ‘put patients at risk of serious harm’ a damning report by the National Audit Office (NAO) states, which the doctors’ union BMA said is ‘nothing short of scandalous’. Capita, whose share price dropped by 40% in a single day of trading at the beginning of February is under threat.

EAST COAST RAILWAY RENATIONALISED! RENATIONALISE the Railways now, the RMT, Aslef and Unite trade unions demanded yesterday, after Tory Transport Secretary Chris Grayling announced that East Coast Main Line is being brought into ‘temporary state ownership’ and renamed London and North Eastern Railway (LNER). The London to Edinburgh line has been run as a joint venture by privateers Stagecoach and Virgin since 2015.

General strike in Palestine THE occupied Palestinian territories observed a general strike yesterday, affecting all aspects of life.
It was called for by President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian government marking the 70th anniversary of the Nakba, the dispersion and uprooting of Palestinians from their homeland in 1948, and in mourning of the 60 Palestinians murdered by the Israeli army massacre in Gaza on Monday. Shops remained shuttered as public servants, students and many employed by the private sector stayed home in observation of the strike call.
